Fieldbus chosen for Chinese complex China National Offshore Oil Corp. (CNOOC) will use Foundation Fieldbus to automate a new petrochemical facility. It is claimed to be the largest installation in the world, interconnecting more than 12,000 fieldbus devices. The development is a venture between Shell Nanhai BV and CNOOC Petrochemicals Investment Ltd. (CPIL). It is located in the Daya Bay Economic and Technical Development Zone, Huizhou, Guangdong Province, China, 80 km from Hong Kong.
