Meeting last month, seminar participants from EU governments and private sectors examined research and development (R&D) priorities for creating a hydrogen infrastructure. The International Energy Agency (IEA) organized the seminar as a forum for defining what R&D innovations offer the greatest potential in creating a hydrogen economy. Recognizing the importance of the option to transition to hydrogen from the perspective of energy security, economy and environment, the seminar aimed to identify international R&D collaboration that can contribute to a consensus on whether, when and how such a transition could take
