energy values upward 50 - 100% by year's end. The impact of
these higher values and the overall political uncertainties
was severe for everyone.
In a recent market overview, analysts at CMAI warn
that "given the capacity overhang prevalent today,
petrochemical producers must maintain a close monitor on
comparative energy values. Too wide a divergence in key raw
material price drivers can severely limit an organization's
competitive capabilities."
