Conoco Inc. has selected Jacobs Engineering Group Inc. as its alliance contractor. Jacobs will perform supplemental maintenance, turnarounds and small capital construction projects at four U.S. refineries and Conoco's R&D center. The three-year alliance is worth $120 million. Reportedly, Conoco wanted to consolidate its work contract with one company to improve flexibility in planning, scheduling and maintenance. The relationship ties compensation to results to jointly improve performance metrics. The Mary Kay O'Connor Process Safety Center, Chemical Engineering Division, Texas A&M University, is calling for papers to present at its symposium scheduled for Oct. 29 - 30,
