ABB Lummus Global to build large cracker in Texas ABB Lummus Global has been awarded a lump-sum turnkey contract to build a liquids feed steam cracker by a joint venture of BASF Corp. and FINA Inc. The scope of the contract includes process technology and license, detailed engineering, equipment and material procurement, plant construction and start-up commissioning services. The value to ABB is over $600 million. The unit will have a nameplate capacity of 1.9 billion lb of ethylene and 1.9 billion lb of propylene with the addition of a new technology to maximize propylene production.
