Simple method determines flow regime for friction factor calculations

Use these criteria to avoid trial-anderror procedures

Fluid flow through pipe experiences resistance due to viscosity, fluid turbulence and pipe surface roughness. Surface roughness is a major contributor to flow resistance. Roughness resistance (friction factor) calculations have required a tedious procedure to determine flow regime. The new simple and explicit criteria presented can be used to easily determine flow regime. Introduction.
