India's Nayara Energy buys only Russian oil in Dec for 5th straight month
Russia-backed Indian refiner Nayara Energy Ltd. continued to import only Russian oil in December, the fifth month in a row, at about 371,000 bpd, a decline of 2.2% over November, data from trade and industry sources showed.
Its other suppliers, Iraq's SOMO and Saudi Aramco, have halted supplies due to payment difficulties after the European Union placed the refiner under sanctions in July.
Nayara, part-owned by Russian oil major Rosneft, operates a 400,000-bpd refinery at Vadinar in the state of Gujarat.
The sources declined to be identified as they are not authorized to speak to the media.
Following are details of Nayara's crude and condensate imports. Volumes are in 1,000 bpd.
