Indonesia's biodiesel consumption this year up to April 24 was 4.44 MM kiloliters (kl), energy ministry official Edi Wibowo said on Monday.
For the January-to-March period, biodiesel consumption was at 3.2 MMkl, he said.
Indonesia, the world's biggest palm-oil producer, raised the amount of palm oil in its mandatory biodiesel blend to 40% earlier this year, up from 35% previously, to reduce reliance on imported diesel fuel.
The implementation of the higher blend was expected to have reached full scale by March.
In comparison, Indonesia consumed 4.16 MMkl of biodiesel in January to April last year, data from biodiesel producers' group APROBI showed.
