Japan's Eneos restarts 129,000-bpd Chiba CDU after maintenance

Japan's biggest refiner, Eneos Corp., restarted the 129,000-bpd crude distillation unit (CDU) at its Chiba refinery near Tokyo on April 7, following scheduled maintenance, a company spokesperson said on Tuesday.

The unit had been offline since January 22.

The refiner, a unit of Eneos Holdings, also restarted the 141,000-bpd CDU at its Sakai refinery in western Japan on February 26, after shutting it down on February 17 following a fire, the spokesperson said.

Eneos also carried out an unplanned shutdown of the 128,000-bpd CDU at its Marifu refinery, also in western Japan, from February 26 to March 23, the spokesperson said, without disclosing the reason for the shutdown.
