Russia's Gazprom Neftekhim petrochemical plant announces major maintenance

Russia's Gazprom Neftekhim Salavat oil processing, petrochemical and fertilizer complex located in the Bashkortostan region has announced major maintenance.

It plans to repair its primary refining unit CDU-24 and a hydrotreater as part of maintenance scheduled to start "this week," said in its in-house magazine dated Sept. 21.

Interfax news agency, citing a plant representative, said another key unit, CDU-6, will continue operations during the maintenance.

The company did not specify how long the maintenance would take to complete. CDU-4 is expected to be back online on Oct. 15, according to an industry source, while secondary units are scheduled to restart operations in the last third of October.

CDU-4 accounts for around 40% of plant's capacity.

The Salavat complex's refinery runs stood at 6.498 MMt (130,000 bpd) in 2023, representing 2.36% of all oil processing in Russia.

Salavat is capable of producing about 1.5 MMtpy of gasoline and 2.3 MMtpy of diesel.
