Calcasieu Refining shuts Louisiana refinery after chemical overflow

Calcasieu Refining Company has shut down operations at its Lake Charles refinery after a chemical overflow caused heavy flaring, according to a local media report on Thursday. The Lake Charles refinery has a capacity of 135,500 bpd.
A spokesperson for the Calcasieu Refining Company confirmed the flaring and smoke has been contained, according to KPLC 7 News, a television station in Lake Charles, Louisiana.
