Axens awarded PolyFuel supply contract for Petrobrazi refinery
OMV Petrom has selected Axens to supply the PolyFuel technology for its project at the Petrobrazi Refinery. The capacity of the project is 200,000 tpy.
The aim of the unit is to maximize diesel production by converting olefins from LPGs and light cracked naphtha from the FCC into distillates while targeting Euro V specifications for gasoline and diesel pools.
“This unit corresponds to the first reference of PolyFuel, an innovative technology to tackle unbalanced gasoline/middle distillates slates while reaching tighter products specifications,” Axens stated in a press release. “The PolyFuel technology is the result of more than 50 years of commercial experience in the field of olefins conversion into fuels. This experience is based on the Polynaphtha units licensed all over the world by Axens.”
Axens will provide catalysts and adsorbents for the unit.
