GP Strategies awarded training contract for Kuwait clean fuels project
Global performance improvement solutions provider GP Strategies Corporation has entered into a multi- year agreement with Kuwait National Petroleum Company (KNPC) for training, documentation and competency development services to support KNPC's clean fuels project. The value of this five-year agreement is approximately $36 MM.
KNPC's clean fuels project is a large, strategic capital improvement project intended to upgrade KNPC's existing refinery infrastructure, enabling KNPC to supply products meeting the highest levels of quality and emissions reductions standards. The project aims at developing and expanding the Mina Al-Ahmad Refinery to refine 346 Mbpd, and the Mina Abdullah Refinery to refine 454 Mbpd. As a result, the capacity of the two refineries will be 800 Mbpd. GP Strategies' involvement includes developing and delivering documentation and training for the refineries' operations workforce to prepare them to operate the new and upgraded facilities and to support them through commissioning, initial startup, and sustained, long-term operations.
