Morgan Thermal Ceramics to supply heat insulation modules for Jubail refinery JV
Morgan Thermal Ceramics, a firm that designs and manufactures advanced heat insulation products, has been awarded a contract to supply modules for a refinery being constructed by SATORP, a joint venture between Saudi Aramco and Total.
Morgan Thermal Ceramics received the order from KTI Corp., which is supplying the fired heaters for a portion of the SATORP project.
SATORP will be installing prefabricated panels of Thermal Ceramics Superwool 607 HT Pyro-Bloc modules into six fired heaters at the facility, located in Jubail, Saudi Arabia.
Delivery on the fast track project is expected to be completed by early 2011.
SATORP specified that insulation used for this portion of the 400,000 bpd refinery and petrochemical project be composed of non-RFC (refractory ceramic fiber) material in response to workplace environmental control concerns.
Morgan Thermal Ceramics Superwool products are special low biopersistent alkaline earth composition fibers (AES fibers) that have been engineered to offer advantages in high temperature insulation applications, the company said.
All Superwool fiber products are exonerated from classification and labeling regulations in Europe, the company said.
