The equipment will be used for research, development, demonstration and deployment (RDD&D) in support of national transportation fuel diversification objectives, specifically those associated with performing the advanced technologies that make fuel ethanol from cellulosic biomass cost-competitive. This is critical to achieving advanced biofuels goals under the Energy Independence and Security Act of 2007.
AdvanceBio Systems LLC was selected as the lowest bidder to qualify under the Resource Recovery Act of 2009. The entire system, utilizing AdvanceBio Systems' proprietary technology, will be designed and manufactured in Ohio, said Bipin Shroff, principal at AdvanceBio.
AdvanceBio Systems LLC is associated with AdvanceBio LLC, which was incorporated in 2007 by principals who brought together more than 75 years of experience in the fuel and chemical technology industry. Today, the firm provides consulting services and technology to companies that are developing new projects in the biofuels industry and biochemical sector.
