The refining industry is shifting operations on a global basis to produce the cleanest fuel mix in history. Many projects are at various stages of engineering, planning, design, construction and commissioning. In the US alone approximately 60 desulfurization projects to process ultra-low-sulfur diesel (ULSD) are underway as the June 2006 deadline looms closer. Likewise, much effort and resources are being directed to process ultra-low-sulfur gasoline (ULSG).
