offer economic incentives. Proper management of recovered
condensate quality is crucial when protecting major equipment
such as boilers. Three strategies can be used to chemically
treat condensate: filming amines, neutralizing amines and
neutralizing amines with oxygen scavengers. Filming amines
were discussed in Part 1 (See

Neutralizing amines. Neutralizing amines are
described as primary, secondary or tertiary depending on the
number of amine groups (-NH2). The simplest amine
