AFPM IPC '19: Albert, James Chao awarded Petrochemical Heritage Award
The Petrochemical Heritage Award recognizes outstanding contributions to the petrochemical community. The award is given annually by the Science History Institute and the Founders Club during AFPM IPC.
President and CEO at the Science History Institute, Robert Anderson presented the 2019 award to Albert and James Chao of Westlake Chemical.
The brothers founded Westlake Chemical Corporation with their father, T.T. Chao in the mid-1980s. T. T. Chao and his sons also founded Titan Chemicals Corporation in Malaysia, and Suzhou Huasu Plastics Company in China.
The Chao brothers shared the story of Westlake Chemical company as well as the gratitude they feel for their father’s wisdom throughout the family’s history in the petrochemical sector.
