JM'18 Industrial Insulation Masters
The annual JM Masters Course was held this year on March 14 & 15, in South Shore Harbor Resort, League City in Texas - a beautiful venue with a view out over the moored boats.
This workshop - offered at no cost to the participants - is not only a networking opportunity for up to 100 invited attendees, but also an opportunity to hear from recognized experts in industrial insulation; and to have time to ask questions, discuss options.
Equally valuable were perspectives from owners, EPC, contractors and suppliers; and a short version of HP magazine's 2018 HPI Forecast webinar.
A significant new initiative was presented by the National Insulation Association, namely their Thermal Insulator Inspection Program for certifying inspectors.
Speakers covered ASTM standards, Non-Destructive Examination (NDE), Corrosion Under Insulation (CUI), tracing, testing, installation, certification. The two-day agenda:
- Understanding ATSM Corrosion Tests
- NDE methods for testing CUI
- Metal Jacketing Systems
- PIR (polyisocyanurate) systems
- Cryogenic Insulation
- EPC - Engineer's Perspective
- 2018 HPI forecast for the US
- Calcium Silicate, Perlite, Mineral Wool, Thin Blankets
- Removable Covers
- National Insulation Inspection Program
- Mastics, Adhesives and Coatings
- Insulation Contractor's Perspective
