Ranking global coal resources I have been a regular reader of your very informative magazine. But, I would like to comment on an "HP Impact" item that ran in June 2007 ("Economic realities push coal's share as chemical feedstock," pp. 19–21). In general, it was a wonderful article with complete analysis of contemporary fuels and their market positions. However, one thing that surprised me was the information about the countries with potential coal resources. The countries listed in the article were China, the US and India. It was a bit amazing that the country with the world's fourth-largest coal resources and, in fact, the largest lignite resources was not mentioned. I am talk
